In the vast, new world of Kairos, Borderlands 4 offers countless secrets for dedicated Vault Hunters to uncover. Among the most rewarding and, at times, most perplexing, are the new Evocarium puzzles. These special collectibles require you to locate three hidden golden orbs to unlock a trove of SDU Tokens and a unique piece of lore from the Siren, Nyriad. The Waterstop Evocarium, located in the Coastal Bonescape region, has proven to be a particularly tricky puzzle, with one of its orbs hidden in an almost-unfindable location. This guide will provide a step-by-step walkthrough to solve the Waterstop Evocarium and claim its valuable rewards.
The Waterstop Evocarium is found in the far eastern section of the Coastal Bonescape, an area teeming with the new “Order” enemy faction. While you can choose to clear them out for some extra XP and loot, it’s not required to solve the puzzle. The Evocarium base is easy to spot in the center of the Waterstop area. Upon interacting with it, three golden beams will shoot out, pointing you in the direction of the hidden orbs. For the Waterstop Evocarium, two of the orbs are relatively easy to find, but the third requires a keen eye and a bit of exploration to reach.
Orb 1: The Eastern Rooftop
The first orb is the easiest to find. Follow the beam that points to the east of the Evocarium base. You will see a tall, ruined building with pipes running up its side. The golden orb is located on the roof of this structure. You can easily reach it by either climbing the pipes or using your new grappling ability to get a quick lift up. Once you reach the top, simply interact with the orb to send a charge back to the Evocarium base.
Orb 2: The Northern Rooftop
The second orb is located on a rooftop to the north of the Evocarium. This one is also in plain sight and is easy to spot by following its golden beam. You can reach this orb by using your traversal skills to jump from the rooftops of the surrounding buildings. Be careful, as this area is often patrolled by a few tough “Order” enemies, so be ready for a fight. Once you find the orb, interact with it to send the second charge to the base.
Orb 3: The Hidden Underground Tunnel
This is the tricky one that has stumped many players. The third orb’s beam points to the northwest, but it seems to disappear into the ground near some large machinery and pipes. The key here is to realize that the orb is hidden underground. You need to find a subtle entrance. Look for a large metal grate or a set of pipes that lead down into a hidden pathway. The entrance is near a set of staircases, where the pipes run underneath a platform. If you drop down and look closely, you’ll see a small doorway. Enter this hidden area, and you will find the final golden orb glowing at the end of the room. Interact with it to send the final charge back to the Evocarium.
Rewards and Completion
Once all three orbs have been activated, return to the Evocarium base. Interact with it one last time, and it will open up, providing you with a generous reward. The main reward for completing an Evocarium puzzle is a bundle of SDU Tokens, which are used to upgrade your backpack space, ammo capacity, and bank. Each Evocarium provides 15 SDU Tokens, making them an essential part of your character progression. You’ll also receive a new audio log from the Siren Nyriad, providing some juicy lore tidbits about the history of Kairos and its secrets. With the Waterstop Evocarium solved, you can continue your journey through the Coastal Bonescape with a few more upgrades and a deeper understanding of the world around you. Good luck, Vault Hunter!
